The Windsor-Essex Regional Chamber of Commerce is delighted to announce the 2024 Recipient of our annual Lifetime Achievement Award. This year, after reviewing multiple nominations from the Board of Directors, we are pleased to announce the recipient is recently retired AM800 on-air personality, Lisa Williams.

“Lisa Williams has been an icon of our community for decades, making the Morning Drive a key part of Windsor-Essex’s morning commute,” remarked Tal Czudner, Chair of the Chamber’s Board of Directors. “Mornings in Windsor Essex consist of coffee, breakfast and Lisa Williams along with Mike Kakuk giving us the information we need to get through the day and also somehow making us feel better about what is happening in our community. Kind of like Alan Trammel and Lou Whitaker, an iconic duo.”

Windsor-Essex Regional Chamber of Commerce Expresses Deep Concern for potential PSAC-CIU Strike

The Windsor-Essex Regional Chamber of Commerce (The Chamber) is deeply concerned about a potential strike by PSAC-CIU personnel starting as early as this Friday. The Chamber has sent a letter to both the National President of PSACCIU, Mark Weber, and the Hon. Anita Anand, President of the Treasury Board outlining concerns for the business community of Windsor-Essex and other impacted regions.

“Any strike by PSAC-CIU workers is going to have a major impact in our region, especially for local businesses” said Rakesh Naidu, Chamber President & CEO. “Businesses that rely on a smooth and timely flow of cross-border goods and services could face significant challenges from this job action, including the automotive sector, which is heavily dependent on ‘just-in-time’ logistics.”

2024 Business Excellence Awards Winners Announced

The Windsor-Essex Regional Chamber of Commerce honoured the area’s top local companies, individuals, and organizations on Wednesday May 15th at the 2024 Business Excellence Awards, presented by Windsor Star.

Windsor-Essex Regional Chamber of Commerce Successfully Advocates Policy Resolutions at Ontario Chamber Annual General Meeting

The Windsor-Essex Regional Chamber of Commerce (WERCC) brought forward four policy resolutions at the Ontario Chamber of Commerce’s Annual General Meeting in Timmins this past weekend. Through the Ontario Chamber of Commerce’s policy resolution debate process, the WERCC received support from the Ontario Chamber network on all four issues, securing these resolutions in the Ontario Chamber’s 2024-2027 Policy Compendium. The Windsor-Essex Regional Chamber of Commerce led the province with the highest number of resolutions presented at the AGM.
