Windsor, January 25, 2024 – The Windsor-Essex Regional Chamber of Commerce announced details of its signature event, the Business Excellence Awards (BEAs), presented by Windsor Star.

‘The Premier Business Event of the Year’, recognizing outstanding businesses, individuals and community groups, the 2024 Business Excellence Awards (BEAs) will be held in person Wednesday May 15th, starting at 6:00pm.

The event includes a Red Carpet Arrival, Awards Show in the Chrysler Theatre showcasing 12 categories, and an elegant dinner in the Skyline Ballroom at the St. Clair College Centre For the Arts.

Two Award winners were announced during the News Conference, hosted by BEA Committee Co-Chairs Shelby Colarossi and Andrea Hotham. The event at the J.P. Wiser’s Experience Centre was sponsored by the Better Business Bureau of Western Ontario.

The recipient of the ATHENA Leadership Award, sponsored by Bell, was announced as Meighen Nehme. Meighen is President of The Job Shoppe, an International Human Resource Firm, and has been helping businesses with their most valuable assets, their people for over 20 years. Meighen’s professional achievements extend beyond her role at The Job Shoppe. She has been recognized for her expertise in leadership and entrepreneurship from Profit W100 and Profit 500, landing a top 10 spot on the list of Canadian Women Entrepreneurs.

The recipient of the 2024 Believe Windsor-Essex Award, sponsored by WFCU, was announced as Windsor Regional Hospital to be receieved by David Musyj, President & CEO. Founded in the heart of Windsor-Essex, Windsor Regional Hospital (WRH) has been a pivotal healthcare institution for the region, offering world-class medical services and fostering innovation in healthcare. As one of the largest community hospitals in Ontario, WRH stands out with its commitment to patient-centric care and its focus on embracing the latest medical technologies. WRH employees over 4000 front line staff and some 650 professional staff. The heart of WRH is the more then 500 volunteers that help support the patients and community.

Three Finalists in each of the remaining 10 Award categories will compete for a coveted Business Excellence Award, with winners announced in a ‘surprise reveal’ format from the Chrysler Theatre stage. The BEAs will also be broadcast live to Cogeco subscribers in Windsor and Leamington on YourTV, starting at 6:00pm.

The list of BEA Finalists includes a diverse collection of individuals, start-ups and established companies and organizations of all sizes, spread across the Windsor-Essex Region representing a variety of sectors and industries. Events details will be featured in the BEA Official Program that will printed and distributed by Windsor Star at a later date. There will also be a digital version. Tickets for the Windsor-Essex Regional Chamber of Commerce 2024 Business Excellence Awards, presented by Windsor Star, are now on sale at www.windsoressexchamber.org.
