New Award Category for 30th Annual Business Excellence Awards

Windsor, ON (September 24, 2019) – The Windsor-Essex Regional Chamber of Commerce is celebrating the 30^th year of its signature event, the Business Excellence Awards, with a new award category.

 

“As we celebrate the Business Excellence Awards 30^th anniversary, the BEA Committee is pleased to announce the Green Innovation Award”, says Rakesh Naidu, President & CEO, Windsor-Essex Regional Chamber of Commerce. “This award is designed to recognize and highlight environmental practices, community and corporate responsibility as well as the economics of environmental stewardship.”

 

The Green Innovation Award criteria is to recognize a business, individual or organization that exemplifies leadership and commitment to sustainable business practices and corporate social responsibility while achieving economic outcomes. The nominee should demonstrate sustained reduction or improved efficiency in reducing the environmental impact of their operations; community leadership in establishing sustainability initiatives or standards that have become linked to their brand/identity; and measurable accomplishments that demonstrate effective sustainable operations. The recipient of the Green Innovation Award should enhance our natural environment for healthy living and economic vibrancy in the Windsor Essex region.

 

Nominate a business/individual/organization, for the Green Innovation Award as well as the other BEA categories including ATHENA Leadership Award, Believe Windsor Essex, Entrepreneur of the Year, Large Company of the Year, Mid-Size Company of the Year, New Business of the Year, Pillars of Our Community, Professional of the Year, Small Company of the Year, Tourism & Hospitality and Young Professional of the Year, until October 11, 2019 at  www.windsoressexchamber.org.

 

Three semi-finalists in each category will be revealed at a news conference on January 15, 2020 and the award recipients will be announced on Thursday, May 21, 2020 at the St. Clair College Centre for the Arts.

 

The Windsor-Essex Regional Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards recognize and celebrate local individuals, businesses and organizations for outstanding business achievement. The evening’s program holds an unprecedented reputation and explodes with excitement from approximately 1,000 guests as they gather to pay tribute to the award recipients, as judged by their peers in the business community.
